New Year's greetings and resumption of CPAA activities

  • 23/12/2016

N° 0001/PDT/CAB/FMAC/CPAA                                                      Yaoundé, 23 January 2016

The President

To the Members of the Executive Board of the CPAA

To all Presidents of African Associations

Subject: New Year's greetings and resumption of CPAA activities

Dear comrades in arms,

In the aftermath of the end of year 2016 festivities and the celebration of the new year 2017, I am particularly pleased to wish you my best wishes for the year 2017; for yourselves, your families and for all the Veterans of Africa.

The year 2016 has just ended in beauty, with the organization in Cameroon of the 155th Meeting of the Executive Board of the World Veterans Federation and the 15th Meeting of the Permanent Commission on African Affairs, a great first in Central Africa.

The organization of these two major events of the Fighting World, thus materializes our declared will to contribute to its influence, a will that we all manifested during the 28th General Assembly of the World Federation of Veterans from 31 August to 04 September 2016 in Poland. We thus proved our willingness to take our responsibilities and put the Permanent Commission for African Affairs back on track. This determination was appreciated by the Federal Executive Board through the technical support it provided to the National Office of Veterans, Former Military and Victims of War (ONACAM) which hosted this 15th Meeting of the Standing Commission on African Affairs on Cameroonian soil. This is the place to address to him, on your behalf and on my own, our sincere and heartfelt thanks.

The decision taken by all the participants at the 28th General Assembly is still in our minds and we must translate it into the resumption of our activities which have been in hibernation for nearly eight (08) years. Cameroon has thus just ensured this awareness by welcoming us recently in Yaoundé from 14 to 16 December 2016. We no longer have the right to make mistakes and we must no longer be the weak link in the World Federation of Veterans.
Africa is full of leaders (and by extension Presidents) capable of taking their destiny in hand. It has been almost a month since the lanterns of the 15th meeting of the CPAA were extinguished; today another member country of our Commission must take over this beautiful adventure started in Cameroon. When we know that the meetings of the WAPC must be held every two years, I believe that we do not have much time left to move the WAPC train forward.

Also, through this message, I call on all of you, you Presidents of Associations to decide now so that the succession of Cameroon is successfully ensured. We do not have much time left to decide on the organization of the 16th Meeting of the CPAA. Let us know that time is catching up with us. Let us avoid falling into the ways of the past because the past cannot be made up for. Let us be proud of our Africa, an Africa that defines itself as a continent in perpetual movement, a continent in perpetual mutation. Let's do everything to restore the tarnished image that some people have of Africa to give a beautiful image of awareness for an Africa that wins in all areas.

Thus, applications for the organisation of the 16th Meeting can be sent to my e-mail address This email address is being protected from spambots. Once again, HAPPY NEW YEAR 2017
